Error Message When Trying to Fork a Specific Page

Problem with forking -Josh Halpern ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Lund, Lance S <lance.lund@...> Date: Fri, Aug 13, 2021 at 3:54 PM Subject: Error Message When Trying to Fork a Specific Page To: info <info@...> Hello Delmar,
I have been in the process of working on making updates to a book in my Sandbox and every time I try to fork the page that was originally derived from:
I get the following message. I have tried importing the same page from other books in campus bookshelves that use the same page and I get the same message.
As an example, I imported this page into my sandbox:
from
and I receive the same error message.
Once again, any page that seem to be originally derived from
generates the same error message.
Could you let me know if you were able to fix this or if there is a solution.
Thanks,
LL

Generally speaking if there are problems, going to html and cutting and pasting the html works. Josh Halpern

Cut & paste from within LibreTexts
I'm pulling from a bunch of pages to a single page. I can't transclude & fork because there are multiple pages. In the past, I was able to cut/paste and it worked well But, lately this strategy hasn't been working. The text comes over with all sorts of weirdness.
I copied from this page and then to this page. In this case, these are both books I can edit, so I could copy/paste the code directly (although that didn't work either). But, I'm trying to figure this out when pulling from a book I don't have edit access to. What am I doing wrong?

I fixed your name. Sorry.
I will make an author bar for you so you can label those pages properly. Give me a few hours. Delmar

Thanks Delmar. Please note that my last name is misspelled . it is Kleiman, not Kleinman. Could I also have my name as an individual (not as a group) to label the pages I wrote from scratch?

Hi: Im new at this and I'm not sure how to proceed. I am working on a book for my class. I wrote some pages on my own and included most pages from other libretexts. My version of the book is not 100% ready, but classes start next week and I'd like to have it "published" but continue to work on it. Is this possible? or another option is to publish some chapters and add more chapters later , as they become ready, is this also possible?

Yes. The new sidebar that we rolled out
a few days ago allows us to customize content on it. We just
needed to get a list of what is desired. We will look into this
next week.
If you want any other specific
resources on the sidepanel, please let us know (this applies to
all libraries of course).

(Something like figure 3 in https://bio.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Introductory_and_General_Biology/Book%3A_General_Biology_(OpenStax)/3%3A_Genetics/15%3A_Genes_and_Proteins/15.1%3A_The_Genetic_Code) Please let me know if I can do anything to help make this request happen! Stefanie

I've been thinking about this, and looking at my tables on LibreTexts and the PDF. I would like if gridlines were standard, and then developers had the option to remove them. I, personally, find tables more understandable with gridlines.

Copyleft is not a license in the sense of Creative Commons at least according to this and this That being said, it looks as if you can use the GPL as the equivalent and simply put the symbol at the bottom of the pages if you want. Josh Halpern

Our last email with him basically said "yes it's mine but my grant ran out so I can't be bothered to deal with it any more." He's not going to do any more work on it (as far as I can tell).

Re: license option

Yeah that is possible. There is no such license though. If you are in communication with them, you may want to ask if they are interested in adopting a more formalized "copyleft" license like CC NC 4.0 instead (I think that exists, although almost everyone wants a BY clause). How to compile book while building
Robert Belford
Hi All, I am developing a lab manual and want to integrate a glossary into it while developing it. What is the best way to do that? I understand the glossary is in the back matter, and that is created when the book is compiled. But should you compile a book that is being developed? Also, I thought you could compile a book by the icon next to PDF/readability, but I am not seeing it. My real question is what is the best practice for integrating a glossary while building a lab manual? I was thinking I could just copy an existing one, and then modify the table to fit my needs. So my second question is where is a good general chemistry glossary? Cheers, Bob Dr. Robert E. Belford Professor UALR Department of Chemistry 501 916-6540

Re: Basic question about building a book
Delmar Larsen
Yes. Same code, but different presentation. The tabbed version lets you show the page in different ways (E.g., popularity, tags, etc), most of which I deactivated for users. The second is when you select "Single" for the Guide listing on the page settings.
