Re: How to add interactive image

Hi Henry, Thanks for your reply. Yes, the slider was one thing. Good to know its doable! But also the source has many other stuff that we might question if it could be imported or not. For Example, there are some graphs that form when you click on a run button also there are short videos or (GIFs). If importing them is feasible that would be great! Thanks

Ahmad: I think we need to see the greater page. It is possible to make some javascript to do these basic things. In fact that was Henry Agnew's first project on the LibreTexts team. Can you share the url of that page and how it is suppose to work? It won't be an instant construction. Delmar On 6/19/2019 6:15 AM, Ahmad Hassan

If so, I would like numbers, and all heading to be blue. (For my gen chem sites, and the cheminformatics sites), as I am also linking to sections from other sections, and using the section number to hold the link , as I think blue (read linked) text is distracting but linked section numbers are sort of parsed like a footnote/citation number. We can change it for you in personal, but most of the time we
don't have numbers to separate section, so the color change helped
to distinguish the hierarchy. Please do h1, h2, h3 as intended. Delmar On 6/8/2019 7:54 AM, Robert Belford

Dear LibreTexts Developers:
The LibreTexts development team has been upgrading some of the organization of the way the text is displayed on the LibreTexts libraries. Part of this effort include pursuing the goal of full accessibility complacence. One step is to enact a "proper" heading infrastructure on our pages. In selecting headings, please use H1 (heading 1) as the top level (i.e., first used), then H2 below that and H3 below that etc. Please DO NOT use a different approach (e.g., using H3 at the top level). We have a bot set up to fix this on pages, but it would be great to ensure we follow this approach at page construction level. Also, please do not bold or italicize the headings. If this is confusing, please let me know directly. Regards, Delmar -- Delmar Larsen, Ph.D. LibreText, Found & Executive Director https://LibreTexts.org

Several things:

The pages were set a categories and you used a showcategory code, which won't work with topics. We are working on a simplier way to address this. I fixed it on your pages. Delmar

Can't change page type without losing page links
Robert Belford
If you go to this category, you two links (2.2.1 and 2.2.2),
https://chem.libretexts.org/Courses/University_of_Arkansas_Little_Rock/ChemInformatics_(2017)%3A_Chem_4399%2F%2F5399/2.2%3A_Chemical_Representations_on_Computer%3A_Part_II But those two links are categories, and they should be topics. If I change them to topics, they disappear from the above category page, and I can't figure it out. Can someone let me know what is going on? Cheers, Bob -- Dr. Robert E. Thanks Delmar. I believe I could reorganize my course to move everything down a level - lots of the information ended up on guides instead of topic pages.

For the time being I think it will be best to make a copy of everything, and after this next workshop we’ll figure out how to move everything to the appropriate level. I would like to have the ability to keep the organization from the top down, if you think that would be possible, for future iterations on the “course”, so we can copy from one site to use for other sites running the workshop. Then we would only change embedded links such as list of participants, and other specifics for the institutions workshops. Mark:
This is exactly the reason. The Remixer, when set to transclude, will tranclude "topic" pages only, but copy guides (Chapters) and Categories (Text or Units). We might be able to rig up a system to transclude Guides and Categories (maybe). The Guides and Categories are more organizational pages (intended at least), while content is stored in Topic pages. I add thumbnail captions to the page below the organization (since thumbnail are for organizational pages): See https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Organic_Chemistry/Book%3A_Basic_Principles_of_Organic_Chemistry_(Roberts_and_Caserio)/01%3A_Introduction%3A_What_is_Organic_Chemistry_All_about Delmar On 6/2/2019 5:56 AM, Jerry St. Clair

Using captions for attributions is fine for images embedded in page text.
What about the thumbnail images for categories/sections/topics? They don't have captions. The attribution could go in the page Summary, I suppose, but that is a bit clunky. Any other suggestion? Thanks, Jerry

it recursive soon. On 6/1/2019 2:07 PM, pbmac wrote:

Le take a look. One reason may be that the Remixer does not
tranclude guide pages (i.e., chapters); only topic (sections)

Dear all,
I have generated a LibreText course, for a week long workshop that is run around the country. It is currently under “Bookshelves” in Social Sciences: I tried using the Remixer University to take a couple of category from the course above, and put it in another location with the name “Test Transclude", but it appears that it is copied, not transcluded. Does anyone have suggestions for how to avoid copying and instead transcluding? Here is a screenshot of the end product, which looks like it is not linked to the original. When I click “edit”, it looks like a normal page that I can edit, which I don’t think is supposed to happen when properly transcluding, correct? I think it should have the trasnclude symbol by the title like this image in the remixer instructions: ![]() Thanks for your help in figuring out how to properly transclude!
