Okay, sounds good.  Going to go look up what "unorder page" does now that I'm looking at all the developer options.
Thanks,
Anna

This only affects your view as a developer.

We will likely swtich to a different technology and use a bot to change it on all books, but probably sometime this summer after the quarter/year is over and we can breathe a little bit.

I doubt this will be a problem. Give me a few weeks to address or I will hand off to someone to team to get it out there soon. The platform is designed for this flexibility. I just have to flesh out the different table styles.

I just ran into this too.  It would be great to have the option for the <dd> elements to show automatically or have that be the default.
I'm trying to use it in the practice exercise at the bottom of this page: https://human.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Composition/Advanced_Composition/Book%3A_How_Arguments_Work_-_A_Guide_to_Writing_and_Analyzing_Texts_in_College_(Mills)/09%3A_How_Arguments_Establish_Trust_and_Connection/9.05%3A_Respect_and_Goodwill
Thanks,
Anna

Re: Gridline in table? #templates #Figures #Formatting

moja@...

That'd be cool!

APA Style requires the last row to have a gridline on the bottom (or the row before the Notes), so an option to underline a cell or row would be nice.  An option to have all gridlines visible would work for that and other situations.

I like your thinking!

If people want to throw into this thread their preferences for table styles, I can build them and you just have to select the one you want in the table properties. No need to edit the HTML for this sort of thing (let the system's CSS system handle it for you).

moja@...

It worked!  Thanks, Josh!  I wasn't going to the page with the anchor on the search screen first.

Re: A way to search inside a specific LibreTexts book

Anna Mills

Thanks, Josh.  I am not familiar with Duck Duck Go but will check it out.
The page I read was https://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_to_google_site_search_look_constrain_subdirectory/

I was able to get a list of pages from my book that reference fallacies by putting this search string into Google to look for results with my name as author in the URL:

fallacies site:libretexts.org inurl:Mills

There are two ways of doing this. One is to use the advanced search page

Another (which is the one Anna pointed to is to use search operators in the search line in google.com

you can create complex search strings using the operators that are given in her link.

For restricting the search to libretexts I have had better luck with duck duck go than google

Hi Michelle,

Having established the anchor, in the editor select the text you want to link to the anchor, then click on the link symbol in the blue editor bar or go <cntl> K. The dialog will appear

image.png
Fill in the url for the page with the anchor you want (you can use the search to find the url by entering the title of that page). Pull down the menu from Jump to anchor or section, and click on the section or anchor. All sections labelled by headings will appear as well as all anchors. Once you get the hang of the Search and Browse it is pretty easy

If you scroll to the bottom of the link menu, there's a section that says "Jump to anchor or section:"

If you open that drop down menu, there's a section for any anchors on the selected page.

Then you just select the anchor you want and click save link.
The construction guide mentions it, but it's kind of hidden in the equations section:

I may have to reapply a different CSS on that page to avoid this. Keep a record of it and we can review later on.

Definition lists and toggling #Formatting

smmuller@...

A couple of the books I've harvested recently use definition lists for some of their terms. LibreTexts formats anything with the <dl> tag so it starts out collapsed, and toggles if you click it. It doesn't look right on some of the pages.

For example, on this page:

https://eng.libretexts.org/Under_Construction/Think_Complexity%3A_Exploring_Complexity_Science_with_Python_(Downey)/04%3A_Scale-free_networks/4.06%3A_Generating_BA_graphs

The sections for "targets:" and "repeated_nodes:" start out collapsed.

You have to click them to get the description.

Usually collapsed definition lists are also blue like a link as a hint to click them, but the <code> format for these terms makes them gray, so it's kind of easy to miss.
Is there a way to modify how definition lists are formatted on a specific page or section of text? Or should I just change the format to something like bullet point lists instead?

Re: Refresh the book

Grewal, Mandeep

Hi Delmar, yes, please give Suzanne and me the ability to force compile because we might need it next month as we are rushing to finalize the book before the June 1 deadline.
Regards,
Mandeep.
