aWe are just starting to host ancillary materials with texts. I moved your text out of under construction and created an Ancillary Materials section with a PowerPoint Presentations section:

https://bio.libretexts.org/Learning_Objects/Laboratory_Experiments/Book%3A_Fundamentals_in_Biological_Engineering_Laboratory/Ancillary_Materials/Powerpoint_Presentations

Drag and drop the files into the table under "attachements" at the bottom of the page. The code I added to the page will create a table up of all successfully uploaded files (see pic).

Hi,

The current project I am working on is an open course website. There are a variety of accompanied powerpoints that would be not easy to transfer into texts. I am wondering if it is appropriate to attach them below the texts and write a line of reminder indicating that those files are helpful materials?

good practice to do so.

Most of the figures on the LibreTexts platform are Creative Commons
license which require attribution as per the requirements of the license
the original creator ascribed to it. We, nor anyone other than the
creator, can revoke that requirement.

Re: Brace Symbol Covering Several Lines of Equations #Equations #mathjax

This post had a solution that worked when I tested it: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3412813/multiline-brace-in-eqnarray/3413228

You can use something like this:
\[
\left.
\begin{array}{c}
x \\
y
\end{array} \right\} \Rightarrow z
\]

And you'll get something like this:

Apparently using "\left." and "\right\}" together lets you leave the left side blank.

Brace Symbol Covering Several Lines of Equations #Equations #mathjax

Lapon Visitvoranat

How can I place a brace symbol on the right covering several lines of equations?
I tried using \begin{cases} and \end{cases} but that adds the brace symbol on the left.
I changed it to \begin{rcases} and \end{rcases} but that didn't work at all.

An example of this problem can be seen in the attachment.

Re: [ADAPTTroubleshooting] SSO questions

Henry Agnew

As a precursor: We currently have SSO support being tested for Mindtouch, Adapt, and Student Analytics.

(1) We are rolling this out gradually across the libraries in the next two weeks. SSO for Mindtouch editing is Opt-In. SSO replaces your existing login so no issues with different old passwords.
(2) We are beta student use this with Delmar's 2BH class right now for Analytics collection and with Adapt. So far so good.
(3) Neither Hypothesis nor Notabene at this time have SSO capabilities, but we will ask them to add SSO to their roadmaps.

For your real main question of hypothesis iframing, here is an old response from Robert Knight at Hypothesis:
"The Hypothesis client avoids this issue by making login happen in a popup, but we haven't done that for https://hypothes.is/search yet because that page is not currently designed to be embedded. For the moment you will need to create an external link which opens in a top-level tab, unless you are OK with the user being anonymous. "

If hypothesis added a login popup (with or without sso) to https://hypothes.is/search  like they did with their sidebar, then this would solve the cookie issue.

(3) Is there hypothes.is integration?  I have been having issues with aggregating hypothes.is tags on the bottom of Libretext pages and these seem to be sign on issues (signing into hypothes.is), and I was wondering if the SSO would include that, or maybe something has been done with the sign-in to hypothes.is that causes the issue.  I can sign into the overlay, no problem, but when I go to the frame I set up to aggregate annotations it says, "Sorry, but your session has expired. Please go back and try again"  but I am still logged in.  But my real question is about SSO.

Re: SSO questions

Delmar Larsen

1: (1) Does it go across libraries, and what are the issues with my account having different logins for different libraries (I had to use a different password for ADAPT and QUERY).

The SSO is currently an overlay option and doesn't actually involve signing into mindtouch. Hence it is current set for student use coupled with Learning Analytics on the student activity. Henry got it to sign into a Library (the K12 library) and it appears to work. I need to confirm when he will roll it out to all libraries. As you know ADAPT couples to the SSO currently

(1) will it be advanced enough for my students this Spring?
I am using it in my Chem class now and we have not experienced any issues. So I see no reason we cannot expand this to your class starting in a few weeks.

(3) Hypothesis doesn't want to go the SSO route. Their business plan is to tie into LMS and charge campuses that way, so it is unlikely that they will fold into our SSO (we have asked). However, Note Bene annotation system has just been updated and will fold into our SSO sometime this quarter.

As for your sign out issue, we need to look at that separately.

Keep on making them this way. Once you are done, we can compile into a single glossary in the back that will work on all the pages.
