Re: Trying to get an export out of LibreTexts
Cool...thanks. I have 2 books - in Course Shells -> Delta: CS11 & CSP31A that I need to export, as well as the An Introduction to Computer Networks (Dordal) book in the Computer Science library

Re: Glmol
Thanks for catching that!
There were a few hardcoded urls that were not automatically migrated when I updated the Mindtouch global variables for GLmol and JSmol a few days ago. I can confirm that both the Generator and Caffeine page are again operating normally. -Henry Agnew

Re: Trying to get an export out of LibreTexts

Pat: The timeframe for uploading a text to the Download center is no
more than one week and that is meant to be where you can get the
LMS files and print files etc. The red LMS button is not the go to
place, but I understand it is the only thing you likely have for
your new text. Let me get back to you with a way forward (and we will fix that message too). Cheers, Delmar On 8/16/2019 9:44 PM, pbmac wrote:

Re: Why am I not logged in??
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
Pat: We don't have the SSO mechanism in play yet. So, each library has its own authentication. You have an account on the engineering library, but not an account on the chemistry library. The SSO will be used to fix that so one account will work for all. If you need an account(s) on other libraries, let me know and we can set it(them) up for you. Is GL mol down? Shanzi was trying to get it to work, and it did not,
but when I went to the demo page, it was also not working. https://chem.libretexts.org/Ancillary_Materials/Interactive_Applications/Molecular_and_Protein_Interactive_Figures/Caffeine_(GLmol) Thanks, Bob -- Dr. Robert E. Belford Professor UALR Department of Chemistry 501 569-8824

Why am I not logged in??
I noticed that as I work in LibreTexts it opens web pages and I am NOT logged in:
But - when I select LMS button, and the error pops up, I click OK...and it opens a window in the Chem Library
I am not logged in - is this due to the login mechanism in LibreTexts?? I know Delmar has mentioned the single sign in capability often.

Trying to get an export out of LibreTexts
I have a book in my Course Shells folder, in Delta College. I am sitting in the "Book" page, showing all my chapters.
When I select the red LMS button I get a message that says "This feature is currently under maintenance. 7/9/19"
I can download from the Downloads center, but my book is not there...
Any ideas? Pat

Re: Remix or Edit??
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
Pat: I am still updating the chapters; the images are not in properly
in all the pages (and only addressing the first 12 chapters). You can certainly remix now and if you translude those pages in the remixing, the updates to the bookshelves content will be reflected in your customized remix. If you fork, then not. The problem is that this text has a ND clause on it, which means the best you (or the LibreTexts team) can do for you is allow you to reorganize the content. But, you cannot edit the content (other than superficial typsetting). To do more we/you need to get permission from the original author or (I think) if we fork your remix and hide it from public view, I think you can customize it for your purposes for your class- I need to review the license careful before I give the thumbs up for that. Sorry, the ND clause is a real pain in the arse for the OER community and conflicts greatly with the LibreTexts philosophy. Regards, Delmar

Re: Remix or Edit??
It sounds like you should do a remix and only grab the sections you want to use. Generally, if you are making edits to a book that are generally considered improvements to the book you edit the original. Examples could be fixing mistakes, adding clarifying explanations, cleaning up language, adding more relevant examples and getting rid of outdated one, etc. If you are editing the book to fit your class or pedagogical style you make a new book/remix.

Remix or Edit??
So I had an OER imported into LibreTexts...its there, I can do with it whatever I want.
I do NOT want to use all of the material that is in the original book. So, is it better to edit the book that was imported - OR - remix it grabbing ONLY the sections that I want to use in my course, and edit those as needed? New at this.... Pat McClanahan

Download Center
Torrey Glenn
Hello,
My course shell text does not currently appear in the Download Center? Here is my shell: https://chem.libretexts.org/Courses/City_College_of_San_Francisco/Chemistry_101A_(Fall_2019) Oddly, there IS an old draft that I thought I deleted... but not my current course text. Am I missing something? Thanks, Torrey

Re: some weird code
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
We have content from many different sources. While the top viewing level may be nearly the same, the underlying HTML often has a lot of variety. The new bot system is slowly working on transforming all the underlying HTML into a consistent format. This is also useful for ensuring accessibility.

However, this will take time. Upshot: Erase junk that makes no sense; we have a fairly limited code set. Delmar

some weird code
Robert Belford
Does anyone know what this is about.
It was goofing up the ability of the WYSIWYG to end at the end of a "header". So a <h2> (really h1) would allow me to edit all the way to the bottom, even though there was another top line header. When I removed this code, it worked fine. <div nothing="nothing" title="Core/Inorganic_Chemistry/Chemical_Compounds/Nomenclature_of_Inorganic_Compounds"> Cheers, Bob -- Dr. Robert E. Page Title Formats
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
I wanted to mention the title format that we have adopted on the LibreTexts for pages. Unless impossible to do, it is desired that each page be formatted like this "XX.YY: title" where
If the title has a colon it in (other the then colon after the chapter.section combo), please convert it to a dash. Several exceptions to this format include:
This approach preserves the curation and Remixing ability of the pages. It also preserve the automatic equations/figure/table numbering that work off of the title of the page. Yes, the html code is not the same as the what the editor uses. I am using the terms for the editor since more people do not edit the html directly. Delmar On 8/10/2019 4:20 PM,

Re: Editing issues (for consistent typesetting on LibreTexts libraries)
thucao@...
I think there is the conflict between the tool and the html code of making header.
It will come with a smaller size in html comparing with using tool. For example, when i choose "h1 heading h1" tool, it does show h1, however I turn to html page to check, it is <h2></h2> not <h1></h1>. This also happens in h2, h3, h4.
