I wanted to mention the title format that we have adopted on the LibreTexts for pages. Unless impossible to do, it is desired that each page be formatted like this "XX.YY: title"

where

• XX is the chapter number
• YY is the section number
• title is the title

If the title has a colon it in (other the then colon after the chapter.section combo), please convert it to a dash.

Several exceptions to this format include:

• Chapter Summaries : "XX.S: Chapter Title (Summary)"),
• Chapter Exercises : ""XX:.E Chapter Title (Exercises)" and
• Section subpages (avoid if possible), which should be then indicated by adding a letter (alphabetically). e.g., "4.3A: Cats are cute" and "4.3B: Dogs are cute" are both subsections to section/page "4.3: Animals are cute"

This approach preserves the curation and Remixing ability of the pages. It also preserve the automatic equations/figure/table numbering that work off of the title of the page.

Yes, the html code is not the same as the what the editor uses. I am using the terms for the editor since more people do not edit the html directly.

I think there is the conflict between the tool and the html code of making header. 
It will come with a smaller size in html comparing with using tool. 
For example, when i choose "h1 heading h1" tool, it does show h1, however I turn to html page to check, it is <h2></h2> not <h1></h1>. 
This also happens in h2, h3, h4.

You just had some residual HTML in your latex so mathjax couple figure
out what to do (likely your italics). If that happens, 90% of the time
if you just clear the formating it will work.

embedding this from some guy in the UK and not Bob Hanson, which is
really bad, and thus only temporary.

Dear all:

I wanted to give a refresher on a few things that I have noticed needed to be changed in harvesting/building content on the LibreTexts libraries. Here are four things to address.

• Please use \[ and \] for displaying equations in display mode (single line).
• Please use \( and \) for inline equations or symbols (i.e., in a sentence).
• Also, please expand all tables as tables rather than images
• Lastly, you can use h1 (header 1) as the first header option for sections (i.e., do not use h2 as the first). For nested sections, then use H2.. and if needed (rarely) use h3. This is needed for screen readers/accessibility.

The reason is that consistency in our construction efforts enables us to effective curate content and effectively remix content into customized text/courses.

Keep up the good work.

Hi All,

I am having some real problems saving pages, even though they are
being saved. I am editing under a header, when I hit "save" in the
WYSIWYG, the page does save, scrolls to the top, but when I go back to
the section I edited, the WYSIWYG is still active. I also get this
option at the top of the page in pink saying Save the page content to
a file, which downloads a file. (attached image).

The only thing I can do is close the browser window. After reopening
the page in a new browser window, the edits are there.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Fixed. You has some crazy name in the Generic page title that uncoupled so you didn't see it.

A follow up on the organization:

A lot of my organization seems whacky. The page ordering in the library schemes, and hence my presentation page for each “chapter” makes no sense or doesn’t show anything at all. I think I have found the source of this error. 

When I select “Options”, “Move”, I see that the URL is super redundant. Here is an example:

The above is what I initially see, not after selecting to move the page! So that super long “Original page location” is somehow super confused and repetitive. I presume this is why my pages aren’t being indexed properly. 

If I select “Move page” when I see this, then it seems to put it in the place it should be. Is there a way to do this in bulk fashion so I don’t need to “Move” all of my url’s to the place that the are in already (but with confused original locations)?

Go to the front page of your published text. Select "Options" in the menu and pick "delete". That will delete the entire book
