some weird code
Robert Belford
Does anyone know what this is about.
It was goofing up the ability of the WYSIWYG to end at the end of a "header". So a <h2> (really h1) would allow me to edit all the way to the bottom, even though there was another top line header. When I removed this code, it worked fine. <div nothing="nothing" title="Core/Inorganic_Chemistry/Chemical_Compounds/Nomenclature_of_Inorganic_Compounds"> Cheers, Bob -- Dr. Robert E. Page Title Formats
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
I wanted to mention the title format that we have adopted on the LibreTexts for pages. Unless impossible to do, it is desired that each page be formatted like this "XX.YY: title" where
If the title has a colon it in (other the then colon after the chapter.section combo), please convert it to a dash. Several exceptions to this format include:
This approach preserves the curation and Remixing ability of the pages. It also preserve the automatic equations/figure/table numbering that work off of the title of the page. Yes, the html code is not the same as the what the editor uses. I am using the terms for the editor since more people do not edit the html directly. Delmar On 8/10/2019 4:20 PM,

I think there is the conflict between the tool and the html code of making header.
It will come with a smaller size in html comparing with using tool. For example, when i choose "h1 heading h1" tool, it does show h1, however I turn to html page to check, it is <h2></h2> not <h1></h1>. This also happens in h2, h3, h4.

Re: latex in template boxes
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
No really. Eventually, we will use the <Figure><Figcaption> tag that you can get via the templates option (select center-center and copy and paste). This will tie the caption to the figure so that when you print they are not separated. It also helps in SEO and enable easy editing of the caption using CSS.

We haven't push this aspect yet to the construction community, but we have been using the APIBot to fit texts on an individual basis.

latex in template boxes
Robert Belford
Hi All,
Please go to, https://chem.libretexts.org/Courses/Intercollegiate_Courses/Cheminformatics_OLCC_(2019)/2._Representing_Small_Molecules_on_Computers/2.4%3A_Line_Notation#InChI_Layers_Explorer and scroll down to activity 2,4,1, InChILayersExplorer. Now maybe I am just fatigued and losing my mind, but it seems like \(\PageIndex{}\) is not working in a template box, although I would have thought I would have noticed that earlier. But I may not have used them in boxes, as most of my "exercises" were shorter than this, which I renamed as an activity, as I am sort of trying to walk through how to hack a spreadsheet..... Am I missing something obvious? What should I do? Also, any input on embedding JSmol features like hack-a-mol, I am embedding this from some guy in the UK and not Bob Hanson, which is really bad, and thus only temporary. https://chem.libretexts.org/Courses/Intercollegiate_Courses/Cheminformatics_OLCC_(2019)/2._Representing_Small_Molecules_on_Computers/2.5%3A_Structural_Data_Files#Hack-a-Mol Cheers, Bob -- Dr. Robert E. Editing issues (for consistent typesetting on LibreTexts libraries)
Delmar Larsen <dlarsen@...>
Dear all: I wanted to give a refresher on a few things that I have noticed
needed to be changed in harvesting/building content on the
LibreTexts libraries. Here are four things to address.
The reason is that consistency in our construction efforts
enables us to effective curate content and effectively remix
content into customized text/courses. Keep up the good work. That is odd. This happens when the internet gets poor at times, but not when things are 100% ok.

I can edit the page fine on my side (and did a little bit). Can you do a control-f5 and see if you still have the issue? Delmar

problem saving pages
Robert Belford
Hi All,
I am having some real problems saving pages, even though they are being saved. I am editing under a header, when I hit "save" in the WYSIWYG, the page does save, scrolls to the top, but when I go back to the section I edited, the WYSIWYG is still active. I also get this option at the top of the page in pink saying Save the page content to a file, which downloads a file. (attached image). The only thing I can do is close the browser window. After reopening the page in a new browser window, the edits are there. Does anyone know what is going on? This is the page, https://chem.libretexts.org/Courses/University_of_Arkansas_Little_Rock/Chem_1402%3A_General_Chemistry_1_(Belford)/Text/2%3A_Atoms%2C_Molecules%2C_and_Ions/2.06%3A_Ionic_Compounds_and_Formulas#Crystal_Lattice_and_Principle_of_Charge_Neutrality I also do not have any other browser open with the page loaded in edit mode, and the overlay says no on else is currently editing the page. A follow up on the organization:
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
A lot of my organization seems whacky. The page ordering in the library schemes, and hence my presentation page for each “chapter” makes no sense or doesn’t show anything at all. I think I have found the source of this error. When I select “Options”, “Move”, I see that the URL is super redundant. Here is an example: The above is what I initially see, not after selecting to move the page! So that super long “Original page location” is somehow super confused and repetitive. I presume this is why my pages aren’t being indexed properly. If I select “Move page” when I see this, then it seems to put it in the place it should be. Is there a way to do this in bulk fashion so I don’t need to “Move” all of my url’s to the place that the are in already (but with confused original locations)? Go to the front page of your published text. Select "Options" in the menu and pick "delete". That will delete the entire book

Please contact your college IT Help Desk if you have any questions. Susan: Currently Yes. Version 1.0 of the Remixer is a one time process although the Remixing map used to make the remix should be saved in your computer's cookies for later editing (unless you have made another remix since and erased it). Remixer 2.0 (when released) will have the ability to use the Remixer tech to restructure existing remixes and hence overwrite existing texts. For now, you have to created a new Remixer and delete the past one. Version 2.0 will likely be released before the summer. Delmar On 7/26/2019 1:57 PM, Stafinbil, Susan wrote:

Re: Symbols gone in chrome (only)
Robert Belford
I just had the same problem, and hard reset did not seem to work. I
then opened Firefox, got in and noticed I was still logged in on the page in chrome, even though I had shut down the page. So I logged out of LibreText entirely and logged back in (to LibreText), went to a page and the icons had returned. I actually did all three of these things: Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button. Or, Hold down Ctrl and press F5. Or just open the Chrome Dev Tools by pressing F12. Once the chrome dev tools are open, just right click on the refresh button and a menu will drop down. And alone, none of the above worked. But after I logged out and logged in (after doing the above), everything was fine. So I am not sure if you have to do the above with login/logout, or if login/logout alone did the trick.
